In the case that the ultrasonic probe 4 is currently used and that the distance L is equal to or more than a preset distance, a reception condition of a gesture and voice input is determined to be satisfied to set an input reception mode for gesture and voice, and a recognition result of a gesture or a voice inputted in this state is received as input operation information.【課題】操作者が無意識に或いは他者との会話中に偶然発した言葉が制御コマンドとして認識されないようにする。【解決手段】超音波プローブ４の使用状態を判定すると共に、検査空間をカメラ６１により撮影した画像データをもとに操作者を認識して当該操作者とモニタ３との間の距離Ｌを算出する。そして、超音波プローブ４が使用中で、かつ距離Ｌが予め設定した距離以上の場合に、ジェスチャ・音声入力の受付条件を満足していると判断してジェスチャ・音声の入力受付モードを設定し、この状態で入力されたジェスチャ又は音声の認識結果を入力操作情報として受け付けるようにする。【選択図】図２
