PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for promoting phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase in the brain. The present technology provides a composition for promoting extracellular signal-regulated kinase phosphorylation in the brain, which comprises lactoferrin or a lactoferrin degradation product as an active ingredient. The composition is used to promote phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase present in astrocytes. The lactoferrin degradation product may be a degradation product obtained by decomposing lactoferrin with pepsin. Moreover, the said composition may be a food-drinks composition or a pharmaceutical composition.
