The invention relates to a mixture for producing a biodegradable plastic material, based on mucilaginous juice of vegetable origin, natural protein, wax of vegetable origin, and a wetting agent. A biodegradable plastic material, produced using said mixture, can be used in industry in general, such as in the packaging and wrapping, medical, farming industries, etc. A process for producing a biodegradable plastic material, comprising the following steps: dissolving a natural protein in mucilaginous juice of vegetable origin heating the mixture until it homogenises adding a wetting agent and a previously melted vegetable wax heating and homogenising the mixture pouring the liquid mixture into a mould and leaving the mixture to dry in the mould, in ambient conditions, until it solidifies and comes loose from the mould.Una mezcla para la elaboración de un material plástico biodegradable, a base de: jugo mucilaginoso de origen vegetal, proteína natural, cera de origen vegetal, y un humectante. Un material plástico biodegradables, elaborado con la mezcla antes descrita, el cual puede ser útil en la industria en general, tales como en la de embalajes y envolturas, medicina, agropecuaria, etc. Un proceso para la elaboración de un material plástico biodegradable, que comprende: disolver una proteína natural en jugo mucilaginoso de origen vegetal calentar la mezcla hasta que homogeneizar agregar un humectante y una cera vegetal previamente fundida calentar y homogeneizar la mezcla verter la mezcla líquida en un molde y dejar secar la mezcla en el molde, en condiciones ambientales, hasta que se solidifique y se desprenda del molde.
