There is provided an automatic external defibrillator including: an AED body that has a pair of defibrillation pads pasted on a chest of a rescuee so as to give an electric shock to the rescuee and a pulse wave sensor unit that is disposed in the AED body so as to detect a pulse wave in a head of the rescuee.
