PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT apparatus providing a subject image where image quality of each substance is property obtained, the substance being difficult to be discriminated only with a CT value.
SOLUTION: The substances in the subject image are discriminated based on subject information which is obtained by dual energy photographing and the image quality of each substance is optimized. For example, a subject basic image GNV and its smoothed image GSM are prepared. Each of pixels of a subject image GOB for observation is successively defined as a noted pixel GOB (xa, ya) (S61) and the following processing are repeated. A pixel value GNV (xa, ya) and a pixel value ratio GHV (xa, ya)/GLV (xa, ya) in the two kinds of images with different tube voltages are obtained (S62, S63). A weight associated with the combination of the pixel value and the pixel value ratio is specified (S64). The pixel value GNV (xa, ya) and the image value GSM (xa, ya) are processed by weighted addition with the weight to obtain the pixel value GOB (xa, ya) (S65).
