With regard to the device 1 for massaging the muscles in the oral cavity provided, the massaging unit 11 operates with an alternating rotational movement rotating around an axis of rotation 15 essentially perpendicular to the end 13. The invention further relates to a method for massaging muscles in the oral cavity using such a device 1, wherein the massaging unit 11 massages the muscles in the oral cavity by alternating rotational movement.
