ABSTRACT A METHOD FOR PREPARING ANTIMICROBIAL SUTURE BIOMATERIAL AND ANTIMICROBIAL SUTURE BIOMATERIAL OBTAINED THEREBY A method for preparing cost effective and technically effective antimicrobial suture biomaterial comprise obtaining fiber from Antheraea assamensis (AA) silk waste, subjecting said fiber to braiding to make suture material, optionally, preparing a solution of Aloe vera- gum acacia gel base, adding of epidermal growth factor and nerve growth factor of suitable concentration to the above solution, dip coating the suture material in the solution and drying the same. Antimicrobial suture biomaterial obtained by the method, is also disclosed.
