the present invention discloses a live attenuated strain of the zika virus (zikv) having a deletion in the untranslated region 3? (3? Utr) of the viral genome which can affect viral RNA synthesis and sensitivity to type I interferon inhibition, but cannot affect viral RNA translation. the present invention also discloses the use of these live attenuated zikv strains in the preparation of zikv vaccine and to provide immunoprotection against zikv infection and congenital zikv syndrome, particularly in pregnant females.a presente invenção divulga uma cepa atenuada viva do vírus da zika (zikv) tendo uma deleção na região não traduzida 3? (3?utr) do genoma viral a qual pode afetar a síntese de rna viral e a sensibilidade a inibição de interferon tipo i, mas não pode afetar a tradução de rna viral. a presente invenção também divulga o uso destas cepas de zikv atenuado vivo na preparação de vacina de zikv e para fornecer imunoproteção contra infecção de zikv e síndrome de zikv congênita, particularmente em fêmeas grávidas.
