PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination system that can promote growth of plants, and whose maintenance work is easily performed.SOLUTION: An illumination system comprises a flexible light guide plate 101, an LED light source part 102, and a control part. The flexible light guide plate 101 is arranged in a shape by which body to be irradiated 105 is irradiated with light from multiple directions, and the body to be irradiated 105 is radially irradiated with light from its inner peripheral surface. The LED light source part 102 is an LED light source having a plurality of types of LEDs having different emission wavelength regions from each other, which is arranged along at least one end part of the flexible light guide plate 101, and makes light incident inside the flexible light guide plate 101.
