The present invention relates to a device for sharpening one or more cutting edges (51) of a dental curette (50). It has a base support (2), on which there is articulated a frame (3), and at least one sharpening guide (4, 40). Said frame (3) supports a grinding wheel (14) rotationally driven by a motor (8) and a sharpening guide support (7) intended to receive the sharpening guide(s) (4, 40). The guide (4, 40) comprises at least one indicator (25) in the form of a line marked on said guide (4, 40), the angle of which with the horizontal being between 10° and 50° but preferably equal to 10°, 20° or 30° and corresponding to the type of dental curette (50) to be sharpened. The sharpening guide(s) (4, 40) can move with respect to said support (7), and said support (7) and/or said guide (4, 40) comprise(s) indexing and positioning means (21, 41, 48) determining indexing positions of the guide (4, 40) on the support (7), each indexing position corresponding to a different indicator (25).
