The present invention relates to wearable garments, in particular wearable garments comprising optical fibre. Disclosed herein is a wearable garment 1 comprising a length of optical fibre 10 embedded within a fabric material 2, and a light source 30 adapted to connect to an end of the optical fibre 10. The optical fibre 10 is adapted to emit light along its length and from only the portion of its surface which faces inwardly when the garment 1 is worn. The optical fibre 10 is held in a substantially fixed orientation by stitching or adhesive 5 around or onto the optical fibre 10. The device is particularly useful for treating babies for jaundice.
