A system and method for allowing a patient/consumer access to recordedbiosignals on anover-the-counter consumer biosignal recorder is disclosed. The method includesreceivingat a monitoring server a registration request having an associated deviceidentifier of thebiosignal recorder and a user identifier of the patient/consumer. Thepatient/consumer isassociated with the biosignal recorder in a registry of the monitoring server.A biosignalrecording is received and a professional reviews the biosignal recording togenerate areport that is transmitted to the patient/consumer. After the patient/consumerreviews thereport, a confirmation is received at the monitoring server to confirm thatthepatient/consumer has reviewed the report, thus establishing the equivalent ofa doctor-patientrelationship. After this relationship has been established the monitoringserver canupdate the device record of the biosignal recorder to indicate that it iselegible forunlocking.
