PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorant which easily suppresses the propagation of microorganisms, such as bacteria and mold, to be the sources for generation of malodors without requiring specific equipment, prevents the generation of the malodors for a long period of time and is safe. SOLUTION: This deodorant is constituted by housing granular materials containing sterilization components consisting of orthophenyl phenol, 4-chloro-3, 5-dimethylphenol, 2-methyl-3-chlorophenol, methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, isopropyl methyl phenol, 8-quinolinol or sodium benzoate into an air permeable package.
