An apparatus for fixing in each case one flower pot (16A, 16B) or one film bag in potting machines, so that they can be filled with earth, humus, peat, substrate or the like is provided with a fastening member (1) for fastening to a circulating part of the potting machine, with two holding arms (9, 10) which are arranged on a transverse support (4) either directly or via an intermediate member and with a support part (2) for a flower pot. The two holding arms (9, 10) can be adjusted by means of an adjusting device (5, 6, 11) to different distances from one another and so as to be centred in relation to the support part (2) or to the central line between the holding arms.
