The invention relates to an absorbent product (1 ), such as an incontinence pad,a sanitary towel, a panty liner or the like, comprising a liquid-permeable toplayer (2), a preferably liquid-impermeable bottom layer (3) and an absorbentcore (4) arranged between the top layer (2) and the bottom layer (3). In accordancewith the invention, the top layer (2) is joined together with a subjacent admissionmaterial (5) by means of ultrasonic processing, in conjunction with which thelaminate that is defined by the top layer (2) and the admission material (5) whenthese are joined together includes a reinforcement (6) executed with ultrasonicprocessing essentially along its peripheral edge (7). The invention also relatesto a method for manufacturing the aforementioned products (1 ).
