1. An intraocular lens for use as part of a set of dual optical intraocular lenses or combined intraocular lenses, the intraocular lens comprising: a body formed from a hydrophobic material, the body defining the outer surface; and a shell located on a portion of the outer surface of the lens body, the shell being formed of a hydrophilic material or of a superhydrophobic material, wherein: i) the body and the shell together form the first intraocular lens; and ii) the shell of the first intraocular lens is arranged to be opposite and facing the outer surface of the second intraocular lens when both the first and second intraocular lenses are implanted inside the eye. 2. The intraocular lens according to claim 1, wherein the first intraocular lens and the second intraocular lens define a lens space between them and the shell is located directly adjacent to the lens space and at least partially defines it. The intraocular lens according to claim 2, wherein the shell is located only on a portion of the lens body, leaving a significant portion of the lens body uncoated. An intraocular lens according to claims 1, 2 or 3, in which a significant part is at least 20%, more preferably at least 40% and even if possible at least 60% of the surface of the lens body. The intraocular lens according to claims 1, 2 or 3, in which the hydrophobic material is an acrylate-based material.
