Stone catching basket for endoscopic catching and removing e.g. kidney stones from human body, has wires wound/guided over tube, which receives probe for lithotripsy of stones, and large receiving opening reduced by approximation of wires
The basket has elastic or superelastic lower and upper wires (1, 2) formed such that the wires are unfolded to a hemispherical form in an unfolded state to form a maximum aperture in an inner space. A large receiving opening is reduced by approximation of the opened wires when retracting the basket in a receiving catheter (3) or a receiving metallic tube. The wires are wound or guided over a thin-calibered plastic or metallic tube, which receives a probe for lithotripsy of stones. The basket is pushed into a catheter hose by axial displacement.
