To provide an indwelling needle device having a constitution preventing blood stagnation in an inner needle while securing a cross section area of a flow passage from a tube to the lumen of the outer needle.

SOLUTION: An inner needle 1 has an elongated opening 9 penetrating from its lumen to a periphery and formed along the longitudinal direction of the inner needle 11, when an end close to the distal portion of the inner needle out of the longitudinal both ends of the elongated opening 9 is defined as the distal-side end 9a and an end far therefrom is defined as a proximal-side end 9b, the distal-side end 9of a the elongated opening 9 is in the interior of lumen of the outer needle 8 in a state where the length of the inner needle 1 projecting from the distal portion of the outer needle 8 is the longest and liquid flowing from the distal-side opening of the inner needle 1 is passed into a space formed between the peripheral face of the inner hub and the inner circumferential face of a shield via a space 16 formed between the inner circumferential face of the outer needle 8 and the inner needle 1.
