PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pupil dilator which can be safely put in without damaging an iris, and which can maintain the state that a pupil is sufficiently dilated in eye surgery including cataract surgery.SOLUTION: A pupil dilator 1, which is used to maintain the state that a pupil P is dilated in cataract surgery, includes: four arm parts 10 which are arranged in series so that they are annularly formed and connection parts 20 which are made of a plastic material and connect the ends of the adjacent arm parts 10. Because the ends of the adjoining arm parts 10 are connected to each other by the connection parts 20 which are made of the plastic material, the whole shape of the pupil dilator 1 is changed based on the change in the shape of the connection parts 20 in an eye, and after the changes in the shapes, the whole shape of the pupil dilator 1 is maintained. Therefore, the pupil dilator can be safely put in without damaging an iris I and maintain the state that the pupil P is sufficiently dilated.COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT【課題】本発明は、白内障手術等の眼科手術において、虹彩を傷付けることなく安全に設置することができ、十分な瞳孔の拡張状態を維持することが可能な瞳孔拡張器を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】本瞳孔拡張器1は、白内障手術において瞳孔Pを拡張状態で維持するために用いられるものであり、環状を形成する態様で直列的に配置された4本のアーム部10と、隣り合う各アーム部10の端部同士を連結する可塑性素材からなる連結部20とを備える。隣り合うアーム部10の端部同士が可塑性素材からなる連結部20によって連結されることより、連結部20の変形に基づいて眼内で本瞳孔拡張器1の全体形状が変形するとともに、当該変形後において本瞳孔拡張器1の全体形状が維持される。このため、虹彩Iを傷付けることなく安全に設置することができ、十分な瞳孔Pの拡張状態を維持することが可能となる。【選択図】図4
