PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure erectability of three-dimensional gathers without deteriorating flexibility against the deformation, which is originally possessed by a block-like absorbent core.SOLUTION: In an absorbent article 10, three-dimensional gather forming sheets 162 are arranged in both side parts along a longitudinal direction to form three-dimensional gathers elongated in the longitudinal direction. In the three-dimensional gather forming sheets 162, a pair of end area joints 162A and 162B, in which front and back end areas and the sheet positioned a skin abutting surface side are joined together, is formed in the longitudinal front and back end areas thereof. An absorbent core 22 has low-rigidity and high-rigidity areas.
