This invention provides an optical lens comprising a front curve lens and abackcurve lens, wherein both said front curve lens and said back curve lenscomprise anarcuate shape and are positioned proximate to each other forming a cavitytherebetween； a volume of oil and a volume of saline solution within thecavity； and aconductive coating on at least one portion of one or both of said front curvelens or saidback curve lens contiguous to the cavity. The optical lens is configured toformvariable optical structures from concentric annular sections in the oil andsalinesolution, based upon an electrical charge applied to the conductive coating inorder tochange characteristics of the oil and saline.
