The catheter shaft (10) is provided with: a shaft proximal end section (11) comprising a metallic tube and having a helical slit (115) formed in the distal end portion of the shaft proximal end section (11) a shaft distal end section (12) comprising a resinous tube and having a multi-lumen structure and a resinous coating layer (13) for covering both the outer periphery of the shaft proximal end section (11) and the outer periphery of the proximal end portion of the shaft distal end section (12). The lead wires (41-44) and the pull wire (50) are extended through different lumens of the resinous tube which constitutes the shaft distal end section (12).
