PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for generating gaseous chlorine dioxide, wherein the gaseous chlorine dioxide having desired concentration necessary for fumigation is stably, safely and conveniently supplied at the site.
SOLUTION: For generating gaseous chloride dioxide, a chemical reaction of sodium chlorite and an acidic liquid is used. In order to facilitate handling and storage of sodium chlorite, powdery sodium chlorite is used, and a reaction vessel formed of non-water-permeable flexible material is used as the reaction vessel of sodium chlorite and an acidic liquid, so that a human body or an environment is prevented from being damaged even when the vessel itself is fractured.
