To provide a plant growing method and a plant growing system in which a plant having am increased content of an enhanced component in an edible part can be efficiently grown.SOLUTION: A water stress is given to a spinach Lg whose above-ground part is an edible part while promoting transpiration of the spinach Lg after a stable period of growth of the spinach Lg. In this case, humidity inside a plant cultivation facility where the spinach Lg is grown is adjusted in order to promote the transpiration.
