The present invention is in the field of pressure sensing devices and their uses for the generation of automatic irrigation systems. more precisely, the sensor devices of the present invention, installed in plant bodies, are configured to operate as valves sensitive to plant cell turgidity pressure such that, integrated with irrigation system components, they enable irrigation automation according to the water requirement of plants. These sensors are characterized by having a compressible internal duct, called turgor duct, interconnected to the input and output ducts of the sensor. The turgor duct is formed by associating a sensor groove or channel with a flexible membrane sensitive to the cell body pressure turgor pressure, such that the response of the plant body on this membrane determines the condition of compression of the turgor duct, allowing or preventing the flow of water or air, thereby triggering or stopping the irrigation action. The present invention also discloses possible embodiments of automatic irrigation systems generated by the integration of the developed sensor to variations of irrigation rods.
