The turgor duct is formed by associating a sensor groove or channel with a flexible membrane sensitive to the cell body pressure turgor pressure, such that the response of the plant body on this membrane determines the condition of compression of the turgor duct, allowing or preventing the flow of water or air, thereby triggering or stopping the irrigation action.
