This method of plants-trap for the biocontrol of plagues consists in using the plants that are more attractive to plagues due to their natural attractants, which are volatile organic compounds that emit odors and which are produced by the plants as secondary metabolites physiologically perceived by arthropods and attracted to them, the plants-trap being sought in the economic interest crops in such a manner that the plagues are trapped therein and not in the crop to be protected, these organism populations being manipulated according to the plague control media practiced by the farmers, the species of the following genus being considered as plant-traps: Phaseolus, Parthenium, Amaranthus, Desmodium, Melanthera, Melampodium, Priva, Euphorbia, Eclipta, Heliotropium, Solanum, Sida, Titonia, Asclepias, Tridax, Capsicum and Carica. This method prevents agricultural crops from being damaged, consequently reducing the use of pesticides reducing risks to human health, environment, preserving the biodiversity and using clean energy, which allows the invention to be integrated to crops of organic certification and in general performing practices orientated to the diversification of the monocrops as a basis for the sustainability of agroecosystems.Este método de plantas-trampa para el biocontrol de plagas consiste en utilizar las plantas que son más atractivas a las plagas debido a sus atrayentes naturales que son compuestos orgánicos volátiles que despiden olores y que son producidos por las plantas como metabolitos secundarios que los organismos artrópodos son capaces de percibir fisiológicamente y de ser atraídos a ellas, las plantas-trampa se siembran en las áreas dedicadas al cultivo de interés económico de tal manera que las plagas se atrapan en ellas y no en el cultivo a proteger, se manipulan a las poblaciones de organismos que se mantengan en ellas de acuerdo a los medios de control de plagas que practiquen los agricultores, son consideradas plantas-trampa a las especi
