The present invention addresses the problem of providing a technique for obtaining a gel composition which shrinks so as to maintain geometric similarity when volatilization of a solvent or an active ingredient occurs, and of which the end point of the effect can be easily visually recognized. The gel composition according to the present invention having solved the problem is characterized by containing the following components (A)-(D): (A) a gelling agent； (B) glycerin； (C) an alcohol； and (D) water, wherein the gelling agent as component (A) contains the following component (a1) or (a2): (a1) hydroxypropylated guar gum； or (a2) hydroxyalkyl cellulose and hydroxyalkyl alkyl cellulose.La présente invention concerne une technique permettant d'obtenir une composition de gel qui subit un retrait de façon à maintenir une similarité géométrique lors de la volatilisation d'un solvant ou d'un ingrédient actif, le résultat final de l'effet pouvant être facilement reconnu visuellement.
