PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel in which a fishing line is not damaged when the fishing line is drawn against a drag force, and a load acting on a level wind device is reduced, and thereby the fishing line bite and sensitivity are improved, and further the fishing operability is improved.SOLUTION: A fishing reel includes: a spool 5A a level wind device 50 having a fishing line guide body 60 with a fishing line S inserted therein, and reciprocating the fishing line guide body 60 in the right and left direction and a drag device 8b for imparting a drag force to the fishing line S. The fishing line guide body 60 has a narrow guide part 67 and a wide opening part 68 to which the fishing line S is inserted. In the fishing line winding state where the fishing line S is wound up to the spool 5A, the fishing line S is positioned in the narrow guide part 67.
