The invention relates to a method and a device for fixing and/or stabilising asample. Biomolecules and tissues are stabilised or fixed, i.e. preserved. Biomoleculesto be stabilised are especially DNA, RNA and proteins. The aim of the inventionis to improve the fixing and/or stabilising of biomolecules and tissues and tobe able to analyse same in a certain form in a simplified manner. To this end, a sampleis placed in a permeable container having a maximum height of 10 mm, preferably5 mm. In order to achieve this, the dimensions of the sample are suitably definedfirst, for example using a scalpel. The permeable container filled with the sampleis submerged in a fixing and/or stabilising means. As a result, the sample is fixedand/or stabilised. A permeable container having the above-mentioned heightis provided for the invention.
