PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ophthalmic medicament prolonging duration of pharmacological effects by suitably delivering medicinal components to the side of posterior eye segment while alleviating loads on a patient.
SOLUTION: The ophthalmic medicament includes a composition containing Leu-Ile or a salt of Leu-Ile, a surfactant of polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene glycols and sodium alginate. By topically administering the ophthalmic medicament, the medicament turns into gel at the administered site and suitably slowly releases Leu-Ile, thereby sustains pharmacological effects.
