The surgical microscope system (200) has a surgical microscope (10) provided with a microscopic illumination and a wide angle part (20) is arranged at the objective side in front of the surgical microscope. The wide angle part has an illumination unit (25), where an object (40) is arranged in front of a wide angle lens (21). The object is illuminated by an illuminating light (29) through the wide angle lens.
