PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope system capable of automatically adjusting luminance of a plurality of simultaneously displayed endoscope images.SOLUTION: An electronic endoscope system includes: a light source for emitting illumination light a light quantity adjustment means for adjusting the quantity of illumination light a first image processing means for generating a first endoscope image of luminance in accordance with a first luminance set value from an image signal of an electronic endoscope a second image processing means for generating a second endoscope image of luminance according to a second luminance set value from the image signal of the electronic endoscope a display means for displaying the first endoscope image and the second endoscope image and a luminance adjustment means for adjusting the second luminance set value. The light quantity adjustment means adjusts the quantity of light so that luminance of the first endoscope image becomes first luminance. The luminance adjustment means changes the second luminance set value on the basis of the quantity of light set by the light quantity adjustment means and a ratio between the first luminance and second luminance so that luminance of the second endoscope image becomes the second luminance.
