A surgical instrument, comprising: a housing with a shaft extendingtherethrough；an end effector at a distal end of the shaft； a knife slidable through theshaft relative tothe end effector between retracted and extended positions. A trigger coupledto thehousing and movable relative thereto between un-actuated and actuatedpositions. Alinkage defines a triangular configuration including an apex portion and firstand secondbase portions, the apex rotatably coupled to the housing about a linkagepivot, the firstbase disposed on a first side of the apex and coupled to the trigger, thesecond basedisposed on a second side of the apex and coupled to the knife. On movement ofthetrigger from un-actuated to actuated position, the first base movesproximally, the apexrotates about the linkage pivot, and the second base moves distally to movethe knifefrom retracted to extended position.
