To provide a personal authentication device in which reading means of a finger vein pattern is thinned.SOLUTION: A personal identification device of the present invention comprises reading means for reading information including a vein pattern of a finger and authentication means having a database in which data for authentication of finger vein pattern is recorded in advance. The reading means comprises a pair of light source unit and an imaging unit arranged in parallel in the longitudinal direction of an abutting finger and the imaging unit has a close-up type wide angle lens, a lens holder, and imaging elements.
