Described herein are compositions and methods for the use of t10:c12 conjugated linoleic acid to reduce hypertension in pregnant women. Advantageously, by reducing blood pressure, the compositions will also reduce the risk of pre-term birth. The t10:c12 conjugated linoleic acid compositions are advantageously food products, particularly dairy products. Also included are methods of determining the t10:c12 conjugated linoleic acid content of a dairy product and optionally enriching the dairy product for t10:c12 conjugated linoleic acid. Enriched dairy products can be labeled for use during pregnancy.La présente invention concerne des compositions et des méthodes impliquant l'utilisation d'acide linoléique conjugué trans-10, cis-12 pour lutter contre l'hypertension chez la femme enceinte. De façon tout à fait avantageuse, en faisant baisser la tension artérielle, lesdites compositions réduisent également le risque de naissance avant terme. Ces compositions à base d'acide linoléique conjugué trans-10, cis-12 se présentent, de façon tout à fait avantageuse, sous la forme de produits alimentaires et, notamment, de produits laitiers. L'invention concerne également des méthodes permettant de déterminer la teneur en acide linoléique conjugué trans-10, cis-12 d'un produit laitier et, éventuellement, d'enrichir ledit produit laitier en acide linoléique conjugué trans-10, cis-12. L'utilisation desdits produits laitiers enrichis peut être indiquée lors d'une grossesse.
