PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anti-aging agent superior in an anti-aging action and usable for various applications such as food and drink and pharmaceuticals.SOLUTION: The anti-aging agent includes a royal jelly or an enzymatically treated royal jelly, which is obtained by reacting an endo neutral protease on a royal jelly, as an active principle and exhibits the anti-aging action by controlling expression levels of genes involved in the insulin/IGF-1 signal transduction system. Preferably the anti-aging agent includes, as an active principle, an eluted component obtained through a process in which the royal jelly or the enzymatically treated royal jelly obtained by reacting an endo neutral protease on a royal jelly is passed through silica adsorbent, and then, eluted by using water, a hydrophilic organic solvent, or a mixture of water and a hydrophilic organic solvent as an elution solvent.
