PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for measuring the degree of vascular stiffness are provided to measure both blood pressure and the degree of vascular stiffness by using the wave pattern of a biosignal acquired by a non-invasive blood pressure measuring part.CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for measuring the degree of vascular stiffness comprises a non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) part (110) for detecting the wave pattern of a biosignal according to the pressure of a cuff a blood pressure measuring part (120) for measuring blood pressure during contraction, blood pressure during relaxation and average blood pressure an accelerated phtoplethysmograph (APG) detecting part (130) for detecting an APG wave pattern by using the wave pattern of a biosignal according to the pressure of the cuff and a vascular stiffness estimating part (140) for calculating parameters necessary to the estimation of the degree of vascular stiffness from an APG wave pattern in each range.
