The method is used for the production of a double eyepiece (2) for safety glasses. The double eyepiece (2) comprising two joined-together single eyepieces (13, 14) is injection molded from a plastics material in one piece and in a form immediately ready for use or immediately ready for an optional additional surface coating step. During injection molding, a first eyepiece partial zone (15) having a first optical function, a second eyepiece partial zone (16) having a second optical function which is different from the first optical function, as well as an eyepiece transition zone (17) between the first and second eyepiece partial zones (15, 16) having a continuous transition from the first optical function to the second optical function is introduced into each of the single eyepieces (13, 14), each of which is associated with a respective eye of a person wearing the glasses.
