The subject of the present invention is a cosmetic composition of the oil-in-water emulsion type comprising: (1) at least one gemini surfactant of formula (I): in which R and R denote, independently of one another, an alkyl radical； having from 1 to 25 carbon atoms； R denotes a spacer consisting of a linear or branched alkylene chain having 1 to 12 carbon atoms； X and Y denote, independently of one another, a group - (C H O) - (C H O) Z； n is from 1 to 10； and - n is from 1 to 10； and (2) at least 20% by weight of the total weight of the composition of a fatty phase comprising at least one oil and at least one fatty substance selected from solid fatty substances and pasty fatty substances； the level of fatty substances chosen from solid fatty substances and pasty fatty substances representing between 1/3 and 2/3 by weight of the fatty phase.
