PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preserving material of diluted semen for pig artificial insemination and a preservation method of diluted semen, with which not only preservability of semen is improved but also the amount of semen usage is reduced for the purpose of cost compression by reducing the number of boars in pig artificial insemination seed, and to provide an artificial insemination method using the same.SOLUTION: The preserving material of diluted semen, in which L-carnitine is included and the other components are also prepared by only components recognized as a food or a food additive by the food sanitation law, is found out. The preserving material of diluted semen maintains preservability equivalent to or superior to the conventional one, is excellent in movability and especially in straight advancing property of a sperm, makes it possible to reduce the number of sperm at a time of artificial insemination by being used for pig artificial insemination, and is effective in cost reduction.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】豚人工授精種において雄豚数の削減によるコスト圧縮のため、精液の保存性の向上のみならず、その使用量の低減を可能とする豚人工授精用精液希釈保存物と希釈精液保存方法、それを用いた人工授精方法を提供する。【解決手段】L-カルニチンを含み、その他の成分も食品衛生法で食品もしくは食品添加物とされる成分のみで作成された精液希釈保存物を見出した。これは従来と同等またはそれ以上の保存性を保ち、精子の運動性、特に直進性に優れ、これを豚人工授精に使用することで、人工授精1回あたりの精子数を削減することが可能になり、コストの削減に有効である。【選択図】なし
