The present invention relates to conjugates of hydroxyalkyl starch and a granulocyte colony stimulating factor protein (G-CSF) wherein these conjugates are formed by a covalent linkage between the hydroxyalkyl starch or a derivative of the hydroxyalkyl starch and the protein.
