A system for providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation to a patient, comprising a processor, memory, and associated circuitry configured to receive and process input signals representative of the timing of the repetitive chest compressions and to control the system in order to synchronize the delivery of repetitive chest compressions and ventilations to the electrical and mechanical activity of the heart and lungs.
