PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for use in the repair of an ear drum, and particularly in the repair of tympanic membrane perforations and reconstruction of the pars flaccida.SOLUTION: The device has a tensile strength Youngs Modulus between approximately 12.5 and 40 MPa, preferably 15 to 37 MPa, more preferably 25 to 35 MPa, and comprises one or more membrane layers, wherein at least one membrane layer comprises a plurality of pores.
