According to the present invention, the method for generating an X-ray image by photographing the head of a patient in the X-ray image generation device, which includes a gantry rotating around a rotation shaft and having a generator and a sensor attached thereto, and a driving unit moving the rotation shaft, comprises the steps of: acquiring a first projection image by photographing a first region of the head while rotating the gantry； after photographing the first region, operating the driving unit so that the rotation shaft is moved； acquiring a second projection image by photographing a second region of the head having an overlapped area overlapping the first region while rotating the gantry； and based on the data of the first projection image and the data of the second projection image corresponding to the overlapping region, stitching and reconstructing the first and second projection images to generate an X-ray image.
