The invention relates to a shed comprising a defecating region (1), in particular a shed for holding pigs which has a defecating region (1), and a rest region (15), a feeding region (16) and an activity region. The invention addresses the problem of enabling animals husbandry while avoiding a slatted floor, in such a way that the animals are provided with a pleasant species-appropriate environment. The floor of the defecating region (1), is formed according to the invention by the upper run (3A) of a conveyor belt, through which urine produced can pass. A collecting trough (10) for the urine is arranged under the upper run of the conveyor belt, from which collecting trough said urine is guided away and directed into a urine collection container arranged preferably outside the shed. In addition, an excrement scraper is associated with the conveyor belt in the region of the rear deflection (4) thereof, which during forward movement thereof strips off excrement on the conveyor belt onto a discharge conveyor belt
