A sunscreen formulation comprises an oil carrier, a particulate metal oxide sunscreen active agent and a polymeric rheology modifier that maintains the particulate sunscreen active agent in a stable dispersion in the formulation. In one aspect the polymeric rheology modifier is obtainable by co-polymerizing a monomer mixture comprising at least one alkyl (meth)acrylate and at least one of the following monomers: a bicyclic (meth)acrylate ester different from the alkyl (meth)acrylate, and an aromatic vinyl monomer. In one embodiment the polymeric rheology modifier is crosslinked.Cette invention concerne une formulation décran solaire comprenant un véhicule de type huile, un agent actif décran solaire à base doxyde métallique particulaire et un modificateur de rhéologie polymère qui maintient lagent actif décran solaire particulaire en dispersion stable dans la formulation. Selon un aspect, le modificateur de rhéologie polymère peut être obtenu par copolymérisation dun mélange de monomères comprenant au moins un (méth)acrylate dalkyle et au moins lun des monomères suivants : ester (méth)acrylique bicyclique différent du (méth)acrylate dalkyle, et monomère de vinyle aromatique. Dans un mode de réalisation, le modificateur de rhéologie polymère est réticulé.
