A constriction device (100) adapted to be placed on the head of a patient for regulating the temperature of the brain. The constriction device comprises at least two protruding pressure elements (101a', 101b', 101c') configured to create bilateral pressure on at least one from a list consisting of: the facial veins (10), the superficial temporal veins (20), the posterior auricular veins (30), and the occipital veins (40), such that the blood flow in the constricted veins is restricted.
