An injection device (100) for delivering a liquid composition, comprising, in general, an elongated body (1) having first and second ends (20, 30)； said body (1) being adapted to receive a replaceable cartridge (2), containing said liquid composition in the vicinity of said first end (20) of said body (1)； and - a drive mechanism located in said housing, said drive mechanism comprising an electric motor and a power source, the electric motor being connected to a piston rod for acting on a cartridge (2) received in said housing (1) so that a liquid composition can be displaced, contained in the cartridge (2)； and wherein the first actuation means (8) for actuating the drive mechanism are provided on the upper side of the elongated body (1) in the vicinity of said first end (20) of the body (1), characterized in that the second actuation means (9) for driving the drive mechanism, it is provided on said second end (30) of the housing (1), said first and second driving means being adapted to drive the drive mechanism independently of one another. An injection device (100) according to claim 1, wherein the power source comprises a rechargeable battery. 3. An injection device (100) according to claim 2, wherein contact plates are provided on the housing by which a rechargeable battery can be connected to a charging station for recharging. 4.
