The present invention relates to a method for planting and cultivating a cutting of the paper mulberry in a cultivation field, and a cutting protection device capable of supporting and protecting the cutting to help the rooting and growing of the cutting while preventing the growth of weeds around the cutting. The cutting protection device according to the present invention can be used for other plants in addition to the paper mulberry, and has a structure which has truncated cone shape or a truncated prism shape having openings formed in upper and lower surfaces thereof and in which a tube shaped portion protrudes from the opening of the upper surface by a predetermined height, a plurality of spikes protrude from the lower surface, and a lateral surface and the upper surface or the lateral surface and the tube shaped portion can be opened.
