A method of treating a patient who requires surgical implantation of an orthopedic implant is described. The method includes the steps of: determining the DEXA scan T-score of the patient's native bone at a site of surgical implantation where the implant will be in contact with the patient's native bone； retrieve from among three or more implants of the same type an implant that has a density that is closest to the density of the patient's native bone at the site of surgical implantation based on the DEXA scan T-score of the patient's native bone； and implanting the retrieved implant in the patient to the exclusion of the other two or more implants.L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement d'un patient nécessitant une implantation chirurgicale d'un implant orthopédique. Le procédé comprend les étapes consistant à : déterminer le score T de balayage DEXA de l'os natif du patient au niveau d'un site d'implantation chirurgicale où l'implant sera en contact avec l'os natif du patient ； récupérer parmi trois implants ou plus du même type un implant qui a une densité qui est la plus proche de la densité de l'os natif du patient au niveau du site d'implantation chirurgicale sur la base du score T de balayage DEXA de l'os natif du patient ； et implanter l'implant récupéré dans le patient à l'exclusion des deux autres implants ou plus.
